Hands Carpets
Very few in luxury carpetmaking can claim a legacy as distinguished as that of Hands. The story of Hands dates back to 1881, when Englishman A. Tellery made a surprising discovery of an artistically gifted carpet weaving community in Bhadohi, a small hamlet in India that pioneered the art of masterfully crafted handmade carpets in the country. The business, and the heritage, was later passed down to the Patodia family, and is now driven by the second generation of Patodias.
Today, the Hands label is synonymous with the finest in luxury handcraftsmanship, with carpets adorning some of the world’s most prestigious palaces, luxury hotels, and residences.
At the heart of Hands lies ‘Design Emotion’ – a practice and ethos that interweaves design with generations of handcrafting expertise to create art that’s timeless. Art that not only pleases the eye and talks to the touch, but stirs the soul and inspires joy.
Globally renowned for its exquisite hand knotted and hand tufted creations, Hands has distinguished itself through remarkable feats in carpetmaking, including the world’s finest hand knotted carpet with 4,900 knots per square inch and the world’s largest handmade carpet, a 12,000 m² masterpiece for the Grand Mosque of Nur-Sultan in Kazakhstan.
Each season, new collections are introduced, encompassing Modern, Contemporary, and Traditional designs, alongside bespoke creations. Many feature collaborations with leading designers and artists from around the world, infusing bold creativity and reinforcing the notion that no two Hands collections or carpets are ever the same. With retail locations in India, Dubai, and Singapore, Hands provides discerning customers access to the finest carpets in the world.
