Marco van Ham is the Founder and Director of DESIGNSTUDIO MVH. With an accumulation of over 20 years of design experience, in Netherlands and then recent years, relocating to Malaysia has given him an understanding of beauty found in varied cultures and identities. This journey of crossing cultures enables him to bring sensibilities and strengths of both the Western and Eastern worlds to the design table.

With an innate creative flair and visionary spirit, Marco continues to push limitations where design is concerned, not confined to interiors but transcending boundaries of architecture, art, sculptural objects and branding. His strong eye for immaculate details and rigorous passion for transformative spaces has carried the studio to new levels of design achievements.

The studio has designed a large palette of projects that range in scale from private homes to hospitality and yacht designs including the Aston Martin and Waldorf Astoria Residences in Miami, Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva and Feadship Royal Dutch Shipyards.

Combined with unwavering passion and an intuitive approach to design, Marco paves the way for a revival of craftsmanship and a bespoke curation of unique materials. This enthusiasm is expressed through his love for art and fashion providing a deep-seated sense of materiality, form and texture. This constant seeking for new sources of inspiration is the catalyst for the studio ’s growth, driving the creation of immersive experiences for the present and future.
